This locomotive is an SW-1200 built by EMD in 1954 (builder’s No. 18759) as Milwaukee Road 1638. It was later renumbered as No. 615.
Length: 44 ft 5 in.
Weight: 248,000 lbs.
The locomotive was retired and sold in 1983 to Chrome Crankshaft. It was resold to the US Navy and numbered USN 650627. It was later transferred to the US Army and became No. 4649. The locomotive was declared surplus and was purchased by the ORM in 2017. It was repainted in 2020 into its original identity as Milwaukee Road 615, and is currently in active running condition.
