"Where in the State?" visits the Oklahoma Railway Museum!

As part of their mission to spotlight the best of Oklahoma, hosts Jeff Roberts (Magic Man) and Rachael James take viewers on an exciting journey through the Oklahoma Railway Museum. In this episode, they delve into the museum's fascinating history and chat with one of our dedicated volunteers about what makes it a special place for so many. From Route 66 adventures to uncovering hidden gems, "Where in the State?" showcases Oklahoma's rich culture, and this stop at our museum is no exception.

History in Motion

Other museums offer you static exhibits. But when you visit the Oklahoma Railway Museum, you can actually see history in motion.

See the steam engines that carried settlers across the Great Plains. Run your fingers over the same handrails your great-great-grandparents touched. And best of all, sign up for a ride and you can actually ride the great trains of yesteryear — just like your ancestors did.

Static exhibits can show you history. Here, you experience it. And best of all? Admission to the museum itself is free, although there are ways you can support the museum.

About ORM

The Oklahoma Railway Museum has grown exponentially from its humble beginnings. Early on, there was only one operational locomotive, and the Museum was only able to take 350 passengers per year. In 2019, we handled over 38,000. We've gone from one operational locomotive to four, and more are in the works.

Though it's grown from its beginnings as a small chapter of the NRHS, the Museum still has the same mission those founding members had: to help people experience the unique thrill of a historic passenger train ride. We're not just preserving history — we're keeping it in motion.
